The Wildings

My "little" family are everything. I continuously strive to learn, to understand, to empathise and to improve this world, because these humans deserve better. Here you can learn more about them, about how we roll as a family and about the fascinating, exciting, and challenging melting pot of neurodiversity in our home.

Raising Wildings

My "little" family are everything. I continuously strive to learn, to understand, to empathise and to improve this world, because these humans deserve better. Here you can learn more about them, about how we roll as a family and about the fascinating, exciting, and challenging melting pot of neurodiversity in our home.

How the Wildings came to be

I met Obiwan in 1998 when I was 16 and he was 21. We were instantly best friends. We have a partnership of equals where we constantly challenge and support each other. We have grown up creating this and moulding it. We had both struggled when we met and we have continued to struggle through life ever since, but together. It has never been without its challenges.

We made a mutual decision after only about a year of knowing each other that we would get married one day, and we did in 2002 when it made the most practical sense.  We have made four humans together and we learn together how to raise them by stumbling and letting them teach us about them and ourselves and how we can all rise together. Our aim is to survive the process of raising them as challenging, supportive equal partners in our world.  We live in a cottage in the New Forest, near the beach. Sounds idyllic but honestly, it's pretty messy.

We come from two (or is it four) quite unique families, and both feel strongly that we belong to each other's families (for better or worse), as well as having created our own little hybrid. Our most recent journey of discovery has centred around all of our neurodiversity and the wild-ness that is the culture here in our home.

I describe us here as the Wildings, in this space, to inclusively represent all of the family that created us and to capture our culture.
